Colonial's employee health and benefits fair was held on Friday, May 13 at the corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas. The annual fair promotes health and wellness by providing a fun and convenient way for employees to participate in annual preventative screenings and to learn about new wellness initiatives..jpg?width=350&height=233 "health-fair-thumbl-(1).jpg")
This year's fair had more than 10 free health screenings available including Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, vascular, allergy testing and more.
"Our hope is that the health fair provides our employees with tools and education to empower them to be proactive about their personal wellness," said Debbi Spiker, Assistant Manager of Human Resources. "Colonial is committed to investing in the health of each employee. Doing so in a fun atmosphere where employees have the opportunity to gather and enjoy an appreciation luncheon is a great way to spread that message."
Planning for the health fair is no easy task. Spiker and her team begin planning six to eight months in advance to reserve dates with some of the vendors that make the event possible. This year's participants included Texas Health Resources, Walgreens, Simply Fit Foods, United Healthcare, Premier Wellness, Relentless Racing, Carter Bloodcare and more.
