A Year in Review – 2020

As 2020 comes to an end, many people around the country and throughout the world can’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we do just about everything this year, but the health and safety of our customers and employees has remained our highest priority as social distancing and virtual gatherings have become the norm. This year has been challenging on so many fronts, and while so many are thankful that it’s nearly over, it’s important to look back and reflect on some of the positives of the past year.2020 Year In Review

We would like to thank the tens of thousands of customers that trust Colonial for all their banking, home loan and insurance needs, as well as all of our wonderful employees who have worked so diligently to ensure that our customers continue to receive the award-winning customer service for which Colonial has been known for nearly 70 years. So as we look forward to better days to come, here are some of the highlights around Colonial in 2020.

Colonial in the Community

Giving back to the community has always been something that’s so important to all of us at Colonial. Whether it be providing Financial Empowerment or Homebuyer Education, monetary donations, community sponsorships or volunteer hours, we have a reputation of going above and beyond in the communities we serve.

Throughout the years, Colonial has donated millions of dollars and volunteered thousands of hours to non-profit and community organizations, and while 2020 changed the way we volunteer, we are still proud to continue to give back where it’s needed the most.

This year, Colonial donated more than $160,000 to more than a dozen different organizations including Cook Children’s Hospital Staff, the Center for Transforming Lives, African American Youth Harvest Foundation, Housing Opportunities of Fort Worth, the North Texas Community Foundation, Samaritan House of Fort Worth and more.

These donations allow these wonderful organizations to achieve their goals for helping individuals and families with emergency housing relief, financial education, economic and enrichment resources and much more. We are honored to continue to support their worth-while causes.

Fannie Mae STAR™ Performer in General Servicing

In March of 2020, Colonial was again been named a Fannie Mae STAR™ Performer in General Servicing for 2019. Fannie Mae’s Servicer Total Achievement and Rewards™, or STAR™ Program, recognizes those who have demonstrated best practices in a number of servicing categories including a review of relevant people, strategies, processes and applicable metrics.

Colonial has been recognized seven times since the STAR program was established in 2011, once again solidifying Colonial as a top-tier mortgage servicer in the industry.

Colonial Continues to Grow

Colonial set some lofty goals to further expand our Mortgage Division in 2020, and while the pandemic put some limitations on that, we are still proud of our continued growth. Colonial has added to our Mortgage Division, most notably in Construction Lending and Relocation, where we continue to expand to meet the needs of homebuyers who are looking to build homes and who are relocating across the country, respectively.

Bring on 2021!

It’s been an interesting year to say they least and I think we speak for everyone when we say: Bring on 2021! Thank you all again for being with us this year. We wish you nothing but the best in 2021!
