The Colonial Savings Foundation awarded a generous scholarship of $1,500 to Ana Gonzalez, Senior student from South Hills High School in Fort Worth.

Each year, the Optimist Club of Fort Worth raises money through their Christmas Tree sales project and requests for funding to award financial scholarship awards for outstanding students from each of the 13 high schools in the Fort Worth ISD.

This year over $25,000 was raised and distributed to the top ranked student scholar-athletes who were nominated by the counselors from their respective schools.

Colonial was proud to support the Chisholm Trail 100 Club's 7th Annual Clay Shoot Tournament and Auction. The sold out event, held in Grandview, Texas, supports dependents of First Responders that are killed or injured in the line of duty.

The Chisholm Trail 100 Club was started in 2009 when citizens of Johnson County, Texas joined together to create a non-profit organization to support the emergency personnel in the area. The effort spread quickly, as local businesses and members of the community flocked to raise money and awareness to support the cause.

Jerry Payne, Senior Relationship Manager, (third from the left) represented Colonial at this year's event, where we have served as a sponsor for the past three years.
