Gateway First Bank Acquisition FAQs

Gateway First Bank is a privately held financial institution headquartered in Jenks, Oklahoma, offering community banking, commercial lending and residential mortgage services. Gateway was founded in 2000 as Gateway Mortgage Group and became Gateway First Bank in 2019 following its merger with Farmers Exchange Bank.

Gateway provides personal and business banking products, including deposit accounts, commercial and agricultural lending, treasury management, and mortgage services. The Bank combines its Oklahoma based community banking franchise with a broader national mortgage platform. The Bank operates 11 banking locations across Oklahoma.

Gateway First Bank is committed to maintaining Colonial’s branch presence. In 2027, branches will transition to Gateway First Bank branding.

Colonial and Gateway First Bank are committed to making sure this will be a seamless transition for all our customers. For now, it is business as usual.

Please continue to use your same checks, cards and accounts as you always have, and continue to use Colonial branches, ATMs, and digital banking apps for your banking needs.

You will continue to have full access to your deposit accounts.

Your deposits remain insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Colonial will continue to process loan applications, fund commitments, service loans, and serve you in the same manner and without interruption. As we work to combine the two companies, your accounts will be aligned with Gateway First Bank products.

As soon as more information becomes available regarding specific timing, we will share it well in advance of any changes.

Yes, continue to make payments to the same account number and mailing address per the terms of your loan agreement(s).

Loan applications will not be delayed as a result of this announcement and applicants do not need to take any additional steps at this time.

You can continue to work with the same Colonial banking team and points of contact you know today. Maintaining the strong customer relationships and personal service that Colonial is known for is an important part of bringing our organizations together.

Yes. Once combined, the company will operate under the Gateway First Bank name and brand.

There will be no change to your safe deposit service.

Expected in the first quarter of 2027, subject to required regulatory approvals.

Colonial and Gateway First Bank share a people-first approach to banking. As a combined institution, Gateway First Bank and Colonial can do even more to serve our customers and communities, and to promote growth and prosperity in Texas, and beyond.

Once combined, Colonial customers will gain access to Gateway First Bank’s full portfolio of products and services, including its mobile and digital banking capabilities.

At present, Gateway First Bank does not anticipate any changes for Colonial customers as we work to combine the companies. Over time, we expect a seamless transition to Gateway First Bank.

Colonial will continue to process loan applications, fund commitments and conduct all other banking operations as they do every day.

Gateway offers an expanded suite of treasury management services designed to help commercial customers manage cash flow, payments, receivable and day-to-day banking more efficiently. These enhanced capabilities will provide our commercial customers with additional tools and flexibility as their business grows.

Additionally, Colonial branches, loan offices, and ATMs will continue to serve customers.

Colonial and Gateway First Bank share a people-first approach to banking and a deep commitment to supporting customers, colleagues and communities that you can continue to expect once the combination is complete.

The acquisition will not affect the FDIC Insurance on your deposits. Deposits are insured by the FDIC up to the maximum amount permitted by law, which is $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, for each account ownership category.
